LegendSoft, Inc. releases functionality providing customer-level security.
LegendSoft Inc. announces new functionality allowing SPoTS administrators to specify which groups and/or users have access to customer information and associated customer relationship management (CRM) functionality.
Providing this additional customer-level security functionality builds upon October's release, which provided project-level security.
Companies using SPoTS may now provide access to their account while preventing access to sensitive information contained therein.
Customer and Project security can be used in combination, for example, to create special "customer" groups that prevent access to CRM functionality and only allow these "customer" group members access to specific projects.
The "customer" group members can then login to SPoTS to provide customer self-service.
That is, they can create their own Service Orders or check the status of Service Orders previously created by them or on their behalf.

LegendSoft, Inc. unveils SPoTS Web Services.
LegendSoft Inc. made SPoTS Web Services available today.
The new functionality, using the SOAP protocol, allows a customer the ability to programmatically create, update, and delete Service Order
and Customer information in their company's on-line account. The software firm expects the new Web Services will be especially
beneficial to customers who utilize automated system monitors. If a system monitor detects an outage, the
monitor can be programmed to automatically generate a new SPoTS Service Order to record details of the failure.
The integrated e-mail notification in SPoTS will then ensure the proper individuals and/or groups
are made aware of the outage. Company officials expect the new Web Services will be used for
automated importation of data as well. Officials noted that this new functionality exemplifies LegendSoft's
ongoing commitment to add value for existing, as well as new customers.
